Mindfulness Meditation Classes are held in a hybrid format (in-person and online) every Friday (during the summer, classes will be online only – see below for the schedule). The teacher is usually remote, but occasionally present in person.

The class consists of sitting meditation, walking meditation, and a brief talk. The meditation practice will start promptly at 7:00 with a guided meditation followed by walking and movement meditation and then silent practice. There will be a talk, given by our teacher, ending at 8:30pm.

In the summer, classes are student-led and online-only, ending with the reading of an article and a group discussion.

Attendance

IN PERSON

Join us at 662 Pape Avenue, Toronto (side entrance, basement) of the Presbyterian Church. This is just a 5-minute walk from Pape Subway Station. No registration is necessary. If you would like to have some orientation with an experienced community member, simply arrive early.

Parking

Street parking is available. There is also a Green-P parking lot at the church one block south of Danforth.

ONLINE

Please send a request to snowlionmeditationcommunity@gmail.com to receive the Zoom link. Please join the Zoom before 7pm. Latecomers will be in a waiting room and admitted at approximately 7:25pm.

In the traditional Buddhist spirit of offering teachings to all, there is no defined cost for participation in weekly practice. There is an opportunity to support the session costs with an offering of dana — donation according to one’s means.
